As vinhas estão escondidas pelos pinheiros, pelas giestas e silvados atrás de um muro. Sentados num automóvel, ficamos a cerca de um metro do solo. Vemos muito pouco ou nada... Há que partir à descoberta... A Região do Dão é enquadrada por três maciços montanhosos – Buçaco, Caramulo e Serra da Estrela – que a preservam dos ventos atlânticos e lhe facultam condições climatéricas muito especiais. As nossas vinhas estão plantadas entre 450 e 600 metros de altitude em solos de origem granítica. O clima caracteriza-se por Invernos frios e chuvosos e Verões quentes e secos. É numa elevação junto a Vila Nova de Tazém, na sub-região da Serra da Estrela, que se situam as Quintas da Pellada, Saes e Outeiro. Procuramos cada vez mais fazer vinhos naturais, com o maior respeitar pela Natureza. Para que a particularidade de cada vinha e parcela seja perceptível no vinho que origina.

The vineyards are hidden by the pines, the broom and the brushwood behind a wall. Sitting in a car, we are about a meter from the ground. We see very little or nothing... We have to discover... The Dão region is located in province of Beira Alta, in the North of Central Portugal, protected by the mountains of Caramulo, Montemuro, Bussaco and Estrela. Quinta da Pellada vineyards are planted between 450 and 600 meters high, in granite soils, producing wines that age well in the bottle. The continental climate of the Dão region has cold and rainy winters and hot and dry summers.
